Faculty, staff, or student groups who organize trips abroad with students (other than W&L Spring Term Abroad courses) will need to register with the Travel Registry. Faculty will also need to coordinate with Center for International Education to register your group for University Global Medical and Other Foreign Travel Coverage, which provides comprehensive coverage for illness, injury, political unrest, and natural disaster, including evacuation and repatriation. University funds can only be used to fund international travel for faculty, staff, and students to countries where the U.S. Department of State's Travel Advisory is Level 1 (Exercise Normal Precautions) or Level 2 (Exercise Increased Caution). For destinations where any travel advisory exceed level two, travelers must request an exception of? Through? the travel registry. The Provost will use the travel advisory with the International SOS report to determine whether to make an exception. Absent an approved exception, no tickets should be purchased or non-refundable expenditures made.
