Dr. Joy Yang joined Washington and Lee as an Assistant Professor of Finance in 2022 after completing her Ph.D. in Economics with a concentration in Finance at the University of California, Irvine.

Yang’s primary research interests are asset pricing, macro-finance, and machine learning. Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked at TD Securities (a top-four investment bank in Canada). Yang also received three Master’s degrees from the UK, Canada, and the US.

She is an external consultant for the World Bank Group.
