Science Advisory Board

The Science Advisory Board (SAB) at Washington and Lee University is composed of alumni who either hold a science degree or work in science- or math-related fields. Members are nominated by science faculty and others in the W&L community, and are selected through the Board's membership process. Each member serves a four-year term. Purpose of the SAB

The SAB exists to:

  • Advise and support students by offering insight into STEM related industry trends, career and internship opportunities, mentoring, and other relevant resources.
  • Foster alumni engagement in the sciences. As ambassadors, Board members connect alumni, the Dean, and science departments to strengthen networks, share information, and provide support.
  • Provide perspective to the Dean of the College and advocate for the advancement of Science and Mathematics at W&L.

The Board meets approximately two times each year, including one on-campus meeting each fall.
