Science Advisory Board

The Science Advisory Board (SAB) at Washington and Lee University is composed of alumni and parents who either hold a science degree or work in science- or math-related fields. Members are nominated by science faculty and others in the W&L community, and are selected through the Board's membership process. Each member serves a four-year term. Purpose of the SAB

The SAB exists to:

  • Advise and support Science and Mathematics departments by offering insight into STEM related industry trends, career and internship opportunities, mentoring, and other relevant resources.
  • Provide perspective to the Dean of the College and advocate for the advancement of Science and Mathematics at W&L.
  • Foster alumni and parental engagement in the sciences. As ambassadors, Board members connect alumni, parents, the Dean, and science departments to strengthen networks, share information, and provide support.

The Board meets approximately four times each year, including one on-campus meeting each fall.
