Science Advisory Board

The W&L Science Advisory Board (SAB) is comprised of alumni and parents who either have a science degree or are currently working in a science or math related industry. Members are nominated by science faculty and other members of the W&L community, and are selected through the Board's membership process. Members serve a four-year term.  Click to see the current Board members.

The purpose of the SAB is threefold:

  1. Share advice, resources, and support to the departments within Science and Mathematics. Members will provide unique perspective on industry needs and trends, careers/internships and mentoring, opportunities for students, and other forms of material support, as appropriate.

  2. Provide perspective and advocacy to the Dean of the College in support of Science and Mathematics.

  3. Encourage and engage alumni and parental support of the sciences. Board members are "ambassadors" of the sciences to all University networks. They serve as a conduit between alumni, parents, and the Dean of the College and the science departments in order to create valuable connections, share information, and provide resources.

The Board confers approximately four times a year, including one on-campus meeting each fall.
