For Tuesday, September 3 September 2, 2024

FYs,

Please continue to take measures to keep yourself and others healthy by getting enough sleep, washing hands, and avoiding unnecessary interactions if you are not feeling well.

Gaines residents go to Lenfest: Wilson Theater (Workday for Registration) at 10am and Leyburn Library (Academic Fair) at 11am.
Graham-Lees residents go to Leyburn Library (Academic Fair) at 10am and Lenfest: Wilson Theater (Workday for Registration) at 11am.

Being in the right place at the right time is necessary to everyone fitting in the theater and having space and time to explore all the tables at the academic fair.

Your initial faculty adviser should have provided you guidance about when and where to meet on Tuesday between 1-3:30pm. Please reach out to them if they have not and go to their office unless you hear otherwise.-

Get Downtown begins at the semi-circle porch in front of Graham-Lees. Your tour time is indicated in the attached document. Please arrive a few minutes before your assigned time to meet your tour guide. The walking tour of downtown lasts approximately 45 minutes. Over 40 local vendors are staying open late to welcome you to Lexington. Wear comfortable shoes for walking. If you have mobility concerns, please check with your RA for an alternative option. Don't forget to eat dinner in the Marketplace between 4:30-7:15pm.

Give yourself at least an hour at the Activities Fair from 6-8pm on Cannan Green checking out the over 100 student organizations and putting your name on the distribution list for anything that might interest you. If you have questions about student activities or student organizations, contact Laura Ulmer. The Religious Life Fair is in front of Elrod Commons at the same time with representatives from dozens of local churches and spiritual organizations. Look for emails from Student Activities, Campus Rec, and Office of Inclusion and Engagement (OIE) for reminders about things like trips to nearby attractions, local concerts, speakers on campus, and other upcoming events.

Walk over to Early-Fielding (across from the President's house) for Casino night featuring roulette, craps, black jack, and a serpentine bar in Evans Dining Hall; as well as karaoke in room 109 and trivia in room 116. Welcome to Lex Vegas!

If you're seeking to audition for wind ensemble, orchestra, jazz ensemble, choirs, dance, or theater - please check the full orientation schedule and mark your calendar accordingly.
