Elder Care

Resources

  • Health Advocate's GENERATIONS Aging Adult & Caregiver Support Program provides employees and their aging loved ones with unlimited access to a dedicated Nurse Coach, backed by a team of Personal Health Advocates with expertise in aging issues, who will help them navigate the healthcare system, connect with well-being and emotional support, and access resources to help balance work and life.
  • Our Employee Assistance Program can help with the stress of care giving, grief/loss, or thinking through the inevitable difficult conversations caregivers must have with aging parents or spouses.
  • Health Advocate can help you find in-home care, adult day care, long-term care, and/or community based services.  They can clarify Medicare and Medicare Supplemental plans, provide assistance in understanding claims and conditions, coordinate care among multiple providers, arrange transportation to appointments and otherwise guide you in navigating the health care system. This benefit is available to W&L employees, their parents, and in-laws.
  • The W&L Caregivers ERG is dedicated to supporting the needs of employees balancing work with caregiving responsibilities.
  • W&L will match up to $500 in contributions to an employee's Dependent Care Spending Account, which provides you with the ability to set aside money on a pre-tax basis for daycare expenses for your disabled parent.
  • W&L subsidizes 60% of costs incurred for last-minute backup senior/elder care expenses ($200 yearly maximum).  Complete the form in the light blue box.
  • The Faculty Meeting Dependent Care Reimbursement Program provides reimbursement for the cost of hiring a caregiver for dependents who require supervision while the employee attends after-hours Faculty Meetings.
