CSS Profile: Required online application for institutional need-based aid. Our school code for the CSS Profile is 5887.
FAFSA: The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required to determine federal aid eligibility and will open on December 31, 2023. Applicants should complete the FAFSA only after their federal income tax returns are completed for the current year. Our school code for the FAFSA is 003768.
Student Signature Authorization: All enrolling students must submit this authorization in order to use the Aid Status Online system. Applicants do not need to submit this form until they have been admitted and accepted their spot in the class.
Veteran's Educational Benefits Request: Applicants who wish to use Veteran's Educational Benefits at Washington and Lee University must notify our office by submitting this form.
VTAG: The Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant is granted to Virginia residents attending a Virginia private university.
Yellow Ribbon Participation Request: Applicants who wish to use the Yellow Ribbon Benefit must notify our office by submitting this form.
Tax Return Non-Filers
2022 Tax Non-Filer Statement for Student or Parent: Students or parents who are not required to file a federal tax return for the 2022 tax year should submit this non-filer statement in lieu of a tax return for the 2024-25 application.
International Applicants
W&L International Grant Supplement: International students applying for W&L need-based grants must submit this form.
Appeals and Special Circumstances
Notification of Special Circumstances for 2024-25: Students wanting to submit additional information regarding their family's ability to contribute to college should submit this form along with their 2024-25 financial aid application.
Noncustodial Parent Waiver Request for 2024-25: Applicants who would like to request the waiver of the Non-Custodial Parent PROFILE application for the 2024-25 academic year should submit this form.
Notification of Late W&L Aid Application: Returning undergraduate who will not complete their 2024-25 W&L need-based aid application by the May 1, 2024 deadline must submit this form.
Other
Financial Aid Committee Petition: Aid recipients who have been notified by the Financial Aid Office that they are not meeting the GPA requirement necessary for maintaining their aid eligibility may submit this petition
Refund Request Form: If a credit exists on the student account after all tuition, fees, and University-billed expenses are paid, the student may complete this form to request the refund credit via mail or wire.
For Current W&L Employees
Dependents of Washington and Lee employees may be eligible for the W&L Educational Grant Program, Tuition Remission, or Tuition Exchange through the Associated Colleges of the South or Great Lakes College Association. Eligibility is dependent on the number of years of employment and the date of first employment. Please see Educational Grants and Tuition Exchange for application details.
