Research

My research explores the politics of feminist cultural production in the United States with a focus on the historical activism of women musicians. I am currently writing a history of popular musicians' responses to gender inequality in the American music industry from the 1960s to the present.

I teach classes on gender, feminisms, activism, and popular culture in the United States from the 20th century to the present, including:
