Drop/Add Policies Concerning Undergraduate Registration Changes Spring 2022
Submitting paper forms: The University Registrar is providing MS Word or fillable PDF versions of most commonly used forms on the website. After you have filled in the information, use whatever mode you have available to sign the form and return it from your W&L email address to registrar@wlu.edu. If the form needs other signatures (adviser, department head, dean), we will accept forms sent from that approver's W&L email address as official authorization(s). When a dean's signature is required on the drop/add form, the email must come from one of the following academic deans: Dean Chawne Kimber, Dean Fred LaRiviere, Dean Elizabeth Oliver, or Dean Rob Straughan.
INITIAL: Two-day drop/add period (before 11:59 p.m. Tue., April 25)

Miscellaneous Spring Term Policies
- Minimum full-time course load is 3 credits, including one three- or four-credit course. Students may enroll in up to five credits, with the provision that it not interfere with the schedule and obligations of the three- or four-credit course.
- The maximum academic load is up to 5 credits, except for approved six-week courses. No other overloads or underloads are permitted.
- Spring registration deadline: Students must be registered for at least one three- or four-credit course, or turned in a Spring Option declaration, no later than Fri., March 3, 2023 to avoid a late registration ($100).
- Spring Option declaration firm deadline is Fri., March 3, 2023. Must petition Faculty EC for exceptions after this date, and pay $100 late fee if approved.
- Course fees: Students who drop courses with fees are responsible for those fees
- No late charges during the same term for circumstances beyond student's control (medical or departmental convenience changes after appropriate Faculty EC action)
- Section switches during the same term after the initial drop/add (1st week) require only appropriate instructor approvals (no Faculty EC action or adviser or dean signature necessary)
- No pass-fail grading option during spring term.
- No change in registration is official until the proper form, bearing the required signatures, and any required petitions have been received, approved, and recorded by the University Registrar's office. Until that time, students are advised to attend all class meetings and complete all work for the classes they seek to drop or add.
