Miscellaneous Policies
full-time course load is 12 credits: all degree-seeking students must be full time
fall registration deadline: Students will be charged a late fee ($100) if they have not registered for fall term by midnight on Friday, May 20, 2022.
no late charges during the same term for circumstances beyond student's control: medical or departmental convenience changes after appropriate Faculty EC action.
section switches during the same term after the initial drop/add (1st week) require only appropriate instructor approvals and charge (no Faculty EC action or adviser or dean signature necessary)
when a class with an associated non-credit lab or tutorial has been dropped, the corequisite section may be dropped without penalty by the student within the first two weeks (no signature or fee required)
overloads and underloads: for overloads: Students must submit a request for overload (online at go.wlu.edu/overload) to carry greater than 15 credits. For underloads: A student must obtain an academic dean's approval (LaRiviere or Oliver) for 11 credits, and Faculty EC approval is necessary to take fewer than 11 credits (see Dean Straughan)
no charge for fall-term, first-year discretionary changes when authorized by Dean Rodocker in the first two weeks.
No change in registration is official until the proper form, bearing the required signatures, and any required petitions have been received, approved, and recorded by the University Registrar's office. Until that time, students are advised to attend all class meetings and complete all work for the classes they seek to drop or add.
