Renovation and Re-use of Houses
The University owns a row of seven older houses below Letcher Avenue, commonly referred to as "the Hollow." They have historically been used for either faculty housing or administrative offices. Those houses will be renovated, preserving their important historic features. Over time, their uses may vary, but will continue to serve business or residential groups. There is also one isolated Queen‐Anne style house - commonly known as the Red House - behind the R.E. Lee Church, which will be renovated in a historically sensitive manner. Initially it will be used for academic and student special programs, but future uses may vary.
