Rock Removal Planned for Williams School Construction Site

Beginning Thursday, October 12, a rock-splitting product will be used to facilitate rock removal at the Williams School construction site on West Washington Street. The rock removal will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays through the end of November 2023. The rock removal product will be placed in the ground, and the areas where it is in use will be marked with caution tape. When activated, the product produces popping and cracking noises that may result in steam and dust venting from the rock.

This activity poses no risk to the campus community, though we ask that students, faculty and staff be mindful of this work and continue to refrain from accessing the fenced construction site.
