I approach counseling as a series of conversations to support awareness, growth, and healing. My role may be the seed-planter, waterer, fertilizer, or fruit observer. Each of these roles allows me to serve as a growth facilitator. Whether we are actively working on a skill or concept, processing an experience, or sitting with the emotions of the moment, my goal is to be present with my students in their journey. I believe change is an ongoing process which we each experience in varying increments over time. Within those increments, each of us learns the lessons required for us to give and receive what is assigned to us in life.

Dr. Tamara Watkins is only available for Telehealth appointments. To schedule an appointment with her, call (703-254-7489) or email (trwatkinsphd@nhismage.org) and state that you are a current Washington and Lee University student.

Please note: Teletherapy services may not be suitable for students who present with risk to self or others, who are in frequent crisis, or who require contact/care outside of scheduled sessions.
