Dr. Tamara Watkins is a 1996 graduate of Washington and Lee University. She earned her MA in Counseling from Eastern University (St. Davids, PA) in 2002 with a concentration in Community/Clinical Counseling. In 2014, she completed her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Regent University(Virginia Beach, VA). Dr. Watkins is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Board-approved clinical supervisor in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Throughout her counseling career, Dr. Watkins has served youth and their families in multiple community-based and secure settings. She has conducted a range of mental health assessments, including juvenile and adult psychosexual risk assessments and immigration mental health evaluations. Dr. Watkins has supported individuals, couples, and families through a range ranging of community mental health and private practice organizations. In 2015, Dr. Watkins became co-owner and the Director of Community Enrichment Services at NHisMage Inc. In that capacity, she gives her time and talents to counseling, mental health consultation, life coaching services, and supporting novice therapists in their professional development. Her clients are often older adolescents and adults who find themselves managing depression, anxiety, ADHD, spiritual crises, and interpersonal relationship challenges. Dr. Watkins aids licensed counselors and other helping professionals, with an emphasis on enhancing the care of others through self-care, mitigating compassion fatigue, and ongoing professional education and personal growth. She develops and implements workshops and courses for personal, spiritual, and professional growth in the interest of broader community wellness.
