Dave, a licensed professional counselor (LPC), joined the University Counseling Center in summer 2021. Previously, Dave served in university counseling centers and conducted Functional Family Therapy with a community agency. Prior to clinical work, Dave worked in college access/youth development, supporting largely first-generation, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and immigrant students. Dave draws on narrative, existential, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, collaborative language systems, and Emotional Freedom Techniques approaches. Dave holds certifications as a Run Walk Talk® therapist and a Road Runners Club of America level 1 run coach and conducts movement sessions (walking/running) with a small caseload. Clinical interests include: interpersonal, emotion regulation, grief, trauma, identity exploration, and group.
