London Internship Program

The Williams School coordinates Washington and Lee's eight-week program that combines classroom study and internships with firms in and around London. Students are matched with businesses and not-for-profits based upon their professional interests. In addition to the internship and classes, students have opportunities to network with Washington and Lee alumni who work in several industries.

2025 London Internship Program

The W&L London Internship Program is designed for rising juniors and seniors. Participating students will arrive on June 3rd and depart on July 26th. The program includes two W&L classes- POL 285, Contemporary Britain, and INTR 453, International Internship- for a total of six credits. In addition, students will work 20 hours a week in an unpaid internship. The program works with a provider who helps match internships to the student's interest.

This summer, the program will include two overnight excursions and several field trip experiences. The Contemporary Britain course includes field trips to the Houses of Parliament, the Imperial War Museum, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral, the Supreme Court, and the British Library.

Students accepted into the program must sign up for INTR 153- Preparation for London Internship Program in Winter 2024. Scholarships are awarded for the program based on need.
