Curriculum Vitae

Sakshi Upadhyay received her doctorate degree in Economics from Virginia Tech. Her dissertation studies commitment devices such as coalitions and how they can increase outcome efficiency in public goods provision. She uses both theoretical and experimental methods to test her findings. She was awarded NSF Doctoral Dissertation grant to conduct her experiments. She is also a research fellow at Kellogg Center for Policy, Politics and Economics at Virginia Tech

Her primary teaching interest include using both Economics and Psychology insights to help student understand how choice are made in real life. She uses in class experiments and case studies to help students understand these concepts. She was also awarded Graduate Instructor of the year at Virginia Tech.

Prior to pursuing her doctoral degree, Sakshi worked briefly at Reserve Bank of India. She received Masters in Economics and Bachelors in Economics from India.
She enjoys running, hiking and biking. She is also fond of travelling and camping. In her free time, she likes to bake and cook.
