Curriculum Vitae
Mario Negrete received his doctorate degree in Economics from The Ohio State University. His dissertation studies the empirical limitations of the Efficient Market Hypothesis. He analyses the Momentum anomaly in equities and currencies, and he works to develop covering strategies for these portfolios. Mario considers teaching his vocation. He aims to be the instructor he wanted to have while he was a student. He received the Departmental Citation for Excellence in Teaching from The Ohio State Economics department two consecutive years.
Mario worked for the Bank of Mexico before starting graduate school, in the department of economic research. He participated in the quarterly publication of the Beige Book. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE). Mario represented his state in the Mexican Mathematical Olympiad and received an Honor Mention.
He has been described both as an introvert and an extrovert by different groups of friends. He enjoys playing basketball and soccer. He also enjoys playing board games on a quite evening with a small group of friends or running in silence. His life goal is to make his parents proud, to do more good than bad, and to give back more than he takes in.
