Curriculum Vitae

Professor Davis joined the W&L faculty in 2022 after finishing his Ph.D. at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and his undergraduate studies at UC Santa Cruz. His primary research focus is on enhancing corporate accountability by identifying governance characteristics that contribute to accurate financial reporting. He is particularly interested in how CEO characteristics impact organizational outcomes. He has also coauthored works on the determinants of crowdfunding success and melanoma prognosis. His research has been published in the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money; the Journal of Financial Reporting and Accounting; the Journal of Economics Finance and Administrative Science; and Pathobiology. While Professor Davis finds great fulfillment in research, teaching is his true calling. The topics he teaches directly stem from his research, often involving the analysis of real-world business data and the development of actionable business insights. He is fluent in Spanish and taught undergraduate courses in Spanish while in Barcelona. Before academia, Professor Davis worked in Oakland and San Francisco in the California Bay Area where he is from.
