Curriculum Vitae

Professor Garvis joined the WLU faculty in July 1998. He has taught a wide variety of courses at WLU and other institutions, including Applied Statistics, Management & Organizational Behavior, International Operations & Production Management, E-Commerce Strategy, and Strategic Management. He also developed or led many co-curricular projects for students, focusing these efforts on Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Advertising, Marketing, Data Science, and International Organizations. In addition, he has created and facilitated workshops in Corporate & Non-Profit Governance, International Management, and Undergraduate Statistics Education. His scholarly work, published and presented in the US and abroad, includes topics such as Corporate Bankruptcy, Business Failure, Entrepreneurial Collaboration, Corporate Governance, Online Learning Styles, and Adaptive Learning. He has provided leadership In a variety of roles in academic positions, professional organizations, and community groups. For his contributions to teaching, research, and service, Professor Garvis has received several awards and grants.
