Curriculum Vitae
Sara Holland is an Assistant Professor of Finance. Originally from Texas, she has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Trinity University in San Antonio. She earned her Ph.D. in finance from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to her graduate studies, she was a research assistant in the International Finance Division at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C., where she supported staff economists studying global capital flows. Her research falls into two areas. Building on her work at the Federal Reserve, she studies international equity investment. Spurred by the growth in the health care industry, she examines the relationship between financial decisions and health, health insurance and human capital. She has presented her research at national and international conferences and has published her work in the Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Risk and Insurance, Journal of Banking and Finance and the Journal of Corporate Finance. She has received teaching awards for her role as a graduate student instructor at UC Berkeley for both the undergraduate and MBA programs and as an assistant professor at the University of Georgia. She was previously an assistant professor at the University of Oklahoma.
