Shift Descriptions
Recovery Shifts: Join CKWL leadership team members as they pick up, sort and store donated food resources from Washington and Lee Dining Services. Recovery shifts are scheduled MWF at 1:45pm.
Cooking Shifts: Cooking shifts provide the opportunity to repurpose donated food into complete meals for our clients. All shifts are supervised by a member of the CKWL leadership team with a ServSafe certification. Please be sure to wear closed toed shoes and a t-shirt (no tanks) to cooking shifts. Cooking shifts are scheduled Sundays from 3-5pm and T/Th from 7-9pm.
Delivery Shifts: CKWL takes great pride in caring for our clients by providing nutritious meals and intentional relationships. Join the CKWL team and get to know the Rockbridge area community. All delivery shifts meet at the Campus Kitchen. Transportation will be provided.
Garden Shifts: The Back Campus Garden at W&L keeps the Campus Kitchen at Washington and Lee provided with fresh produce all through the harvest season, and also provides a hands-on classroom for our summer nutrition education program. Garden shifts can be scheduled by contacted Nicole Poulin in Sustainability.
