Research

My research and teaching interests are in cultural sociology, social theory, aesthetics, creativity, culture & inequality, and disability & impairment. My current work examines the creative and professional lives of contemporary-classical music composers to understand how their creative practices and professional interactions help to shape the aesthetic discourse and organization of the contemporary American classical music field.
