Mental Health and Wellness

RA's for first years are sophomores, juniors, and seniors who live in the first-year residence halls and assist students with the academic and social transition to college. RA's for upper-division students live in the upper-division residence halls and assist their peers with issues of on-campus life.

Washington and Lee is committed to the development of the whole person, therefore a highly trained and experienced counseling staff is available to help students with a variety of difficulties that might impact not only a student's academic work, but overall sense of well-being.

In a community of integrity, honor, and trust there is no place for relationship violence (harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, or stalking). Washington and Lee University takes these issues very seriously and has strong policies, excellent resources, and a clear commitment to prevention.

The Safe Space network is made up of University faculty, staff, and students who are committed to being allies of the GLBTQ community. Its purpose is to provide anyone from the GLBTQ community with "safe spaces" around our campus.
