Sororities

Washington and Lee has 8 sororities: 5 of the sororities are part of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), 2 of the sororities are historically black Greek organizations(*), governed by the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) and 1 is a local organization. 

Alpha Delta Pi

Established in 1851, Alpha Delta Pi is committed to sisterhood, values and ethics, high academic standards, and social responsibility.

Alpha Kappa Alpha *

The mission of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, promote unity and friendship among college women, maintain a progressive interest in college life, solve and alleviate problems as they pertain to women and girls, and to be of service to all mankind. Alpha Kappa Alpha is one of our NPHC organizations.

Chi Omega

The purpose of Chi Omega is to develop ideals of friendship, high standards of personnel, sincere learning and credible scholarship, career development, participation in campus activities, and community service.

Delta Sigma Theta *

The purpose of Delta Sigma Theta is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization's five point thrust: economic development, educational development, international awareness and involvement, physical and mental health, and political awareness and involvement. Delta Society

Established in 2017, Delta Society is a student-governed organization comprised of highly-motivated women who are committed to community service, academic excellence, personal growth, and honorable living

Kappa Alpha Theta

Kappa Alpha Theta exists to nurture each member throughout her college and alumnae experience and to offer lifelong opportunity for social, intellectual, and moral growth as she meets the higher and broader demands of mature life.

Kappa Kappa Gamma

An organization of women which seeks for every member throughout her life bonds of friendship, mutual support, opportunities for self-growth, respect for intellectual development, and an understanding of and an allegiance to positive ethical principles.

Pi Beta Phi

The Virginia Theta chapter of Pi Beta Phi endeavors to promote the values of lasting friendship, personal integrity, and service to others while maintaining high academic standards
