First-Year Housing

All First-Year students at Washington and Lee University are required to live in on-campus housing. Both single and double rooms are available in two First-Year residence halls.

Upper-Division Housing

Sophomores and juniors are required to live in University housing in a variety of group settings including traditional residence halls, apartments, townhouses, Greek and themed housing.

Housing Services

The Office of Residential Life has partnered with several companies to provide services to students for items such as bed linens, MicroFridge rentals and weekly laundry pickup and delivery. Proceeds support Residential Life programming at Washington and Lee.

Residential Life Program

The residential life staff is comprised of upper-division student leaders who are selected through a competitive process during fall term for the next academic year. Resident Advisers (RA's) work with First-Year students in the First-Year residence halls. Community Assistants (CA's) work with upper-division students in The Village, Woods Creek apartments, and theme houses. The selection process to serve as an RA/CA is rigorous. RA's and CA's are knowledgeable about Washington and Lee and are available to residents to discuss problems and answer questions.
