UBA Appeal 5
After a thoughtful and careful review of an appeal request submitted by an undergraduate student, the UBA found no grounds to hear the appeal by majority vote (3 - 2). Accordingly, the original findings and sanctions of the Student-Faculty Hearing Board were imposed immediately:
- Suspension immediately with earliest readmission to be Fall 2012
- Various conditions for readmission
The decision by the UBA is final.
UBA Appeal 4
The UBA voted 4 - 0 to affirm the SJC's findings of responsibility for a student who violated the alcohol policy.
The UBA voted 3 - 1 to affirm the original decision of the SJC, which resulted in Conduct Probation for 52 weeks and Social Probation through the end of Spring Term 2012.
The decision by the UBA is final.
UBA Appeal 3
The UBA voted 4 - 0 to affirm the SFHB's findings of Sexual Misconduct in the form of Unwanted Sexual Touching and Conduct Unbecoming of a Washington and Lee Student.
The UBA voted 3 - 2 to impose, in addition to the sanctions levied by the SFHB, Conduct Probation for 52 weeks and Social Probation through the end of Spring Term 2012. The decision by the UBA is final.
UBA Appeal 2
The UBA voted 3 - 1 to affirm the SJC's findings for a violation of an Alcohol Policy in the form of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) by a Washington and Lee Student.
The UBA voted 4 - 0 to modify the original sanction so that suspension will begin during the Winter term 2012, instead of immediately. This decision was rendered giving the unexpected delay in scheduling of the appeal. The decision by the UBA is final.
UBA Appeal 1
The University Board of Appeals (UBA) met on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 to hear an appeal submitted by a Greek organization. After a complete and thorough review of the appeal, the University Board of Appeals voted 4-0 to affirm the finding of the Interfraternity Council. The Board heard no new relevant information and found no procedural error. The University Board of Appeals voted 4-0 to affirm the sanction of a three year suspension imposed on the fraternity by the Interfraternity Council. The decision by the UBA is final.
