SFHB Decisions, 2011-2012
On October 6, 2011, the Student-Faculty Hearing Board met to hear allegations against an undergraduate student of Sexual Misconduct and Conduct Unbecoming a Washington & Lee University Student. The allegations were brought to the SFHB by an undergraduate student at Washington & Lee.
By a 3-1 vote, the SFHB determined that the violations committed by the respondent consisted of Sexual Misconduct in the form of Unwanted Sexual Touching and Conduct Unbecoming a Washington & Lee University Student.
By a 4-0 vote, the SFHB imposed the following sanctions for both charges:
- Behavioral agreement in place for 1 calendar year
- Respondent will undergo a psychological evaluation
- Respondent will follow treatment recommendations
- Actively participate in therapy if so advised
- Keep regular counseling appointments as recommended
The SFHB's decisions were announced to respondent at approximately 1:00 a.m. on October 7, after which the hearing was adjourned.

On February 6, 2012, the Student-Faculty Hearing Board met to hear allegations against an undergraduate student of Harassment and Conduct Unbecoming a Washington & Lee University Student. The allegations were brought to the SFHB by an undergraduate student at Washington & Lee.
By a 4-0 vote, the SFHB determined that the violations committed by the respondent consisted of Harassment and Conduct Unbecoming a Washington & Lee University Student.
By a 4-0 vote, the SFHB imposed the following sanctions for both charges:
- Suspension immediately with earliest readmission to be Fall 2012
- Imposed conditions for readmission
The SFHB's decisions were announced to respondent at approximately 9:00 p.m. on February 6, after which the hearing was adjourned.
