University Driver Training

The University's Vehicle Use Policy is intended to promote safe operation of vehicles used for official University business. The policy requires that all Student drivers must annually complete driver safety training before driving on University business.

The University offers four different University Driver Training & Certification options:

  • Standard Passenger Vehicle only
    • Must complete standard passenger vehicle training module, with minimum 80% score and receive certificate of completion.
    • Must submit web form with all requested information
  • Van only
    • Must complete van driver training module, with minimum 80% score and receive certificate of completion.
    • Must submit web form with all requested information
  • BOTH Standard Passenger Vehicle and Van
    • Must complete BOTH standard passenger vehicle and van driver training modules, with minimum 80% score on each and receive BOTH certificates of completion.
    • Must submit web form with all requested information.
  • Golf Cart (If you are looking for temporary accommodations due to injury or disability, please first contact Lauren Kozak, kozakl@wlu.edu or 540-458-4055)
    • Must complete standard passenger vehicle training module, with minimum 80% score and receive certificate of completion.
    • Must submit web form with all requested information.
    • Must contact Public Safety, 540-458-8999 or publicsafety@wlu.edu, for additional training during normal business hours.
