Permissions & Access
Instructors and administrators participating in the SPoT processes may add customized questions to the approved SPoT survey. Instructions for this process are available below.
The process for adding custom questions is almost identical for administrators and instructors. The main difference between the two is that any questions added at an administrator level cannot be viewed or adjusted at the instructor level; however, responses to those questions will be viewable by the instructor.
Note to administrators: If you also have access as an instructor, make sure you are logged in to the correct version of your Watermark account. Refer to the top right corner of your screen and toggle between Instructor and Administrator access accordingly.
Adding Custom Questions for Administrators & Instructors
The process for adding custom questions is carried out through the Watermark system. The process can be broken out into two main steps: creating a new custom survey and attaching a survey to your course(s). Complete instructions for both administrators and instructors can be found below.
Note: If your course has more than one instructor and you would like to add custom questions, please keep the following in mind:
- Students receive one course evaluation, which is not split between instructors;
- Additional questions added by any instructor will be included in the survey. These questions will populate after the main SPoT survey; and
- Responses to custom questions will be visible to all instructors in the course.
