South Pedlar ATV Trails 25 Miles of Developed Trails

30 minutes from campus. the South Pedlar ATV System provides over 25 miles of developed trails. (Up, down, twisting, stream crossings, berm to hop.) You want to use the Terrapin trail parking lot. If you follow the South Pedlar Trail (outer perimeter) it makes for a great afternoon ride. Take note, the Forestry Service requires you to pay a parking fee. The trails are also heavily used by ATVs on the weekends. As you are right by the James River, finding a swimming hole is no problem.

Directions

Take US 60 East to Buena Vista. Turn Right at the traffic light onto US 501 East. Take this until you to an intersection where US 501 goes across the James River to the right and US 130 goes straight ahead. Follow US 130 until you see the brown signs for the ATV trail. Pass the Rattle Snake ATV trails entrance and take the second entrance to the ATV trails, or the Terpain Trail parking lot.
