Viewing Rock Day Hike with Views of Lake Merriweather and Goshen

There are several trails to Viewing Rock. Once across the swinging footbridge, turn left onto the Hunter's Trail. The trail lies in the flood plain of the Maury River and is very flat. Continue past the side trail to the left down to a small pond and the Boy Scout Camp. At the next trail junction turn right onto the Little Peak Trail.

The trail begins climbing steadily and then comes to a fork. To the right, the Little Peak Trail climbs to Chambers Ridge. To the left, the trail climbs around Round trail comes to an old road. Follow the road downhill behind round knob and then turn right and continue to follow the Hunters Trail. The Viewing Rock Trail will be on your right leading to Viewing Rock and then to the Tuscarosa Trail.
