The Outing Club is home to a state of the art lead and top rope climbing wall as well as a free standing bouldering wall. Each provide opportunities for beginners through advanced climbers. Come hang out with cool people in a sweet spot and work on your climbing skills.

• Do I have to know how to climb?
  • No, we have staff members who are happy to help you with basic climbing skills.
• Do I need to be an Outing Club member?
  • Yes, and you can join online.
• Do I need my own gear?
  • No, we provide shoes and harnesses and belay devices.
• Can I bring my own gear?
  • Yes, as long as it is 5 or less years old and passes our safety check.
• Do you sell chalk?
  • Yes, we sell chalk and chalk bags.
• Can I learn how to belay?
  • Yes, we have belay clinics that you can attend to earn your belay tag for our climbing wall.

Tags

You have the opportunity to earn belay tags by attending belay clinics during our regularly scheduled hours.

• Green Tag holder: Completed the online orientation and all in person checks for Auto-Belay
  • Can clip into auto belay routes without assistance
• Blue Tag holder: Completed all requirements for green tag and all in person training for Top-Rope routes and learned necessary knots
  • Can climb and belay others on Top Rope routes
• Red Tag holder: Completed all requirements for blue tag and all in person training on lead climbing and belay
  • Can lead climb
