Vincent Kim

As a Gates Cambridge PhD scholar at the University of Cambridge, Dr. Kim studied the fundamental physics of semiconductors to improve the efficiency of organic solar cells and light-emitting devices. His research explores ways to design cheap, flexible, lightweight solar cells that would harness solar energy in more convenient ways to meet the demands of those who live far from electric grids. His physics research experience at the University of Cambridge and his undergraduate experiences with research, data analytics, and statistics at Washington & Lee University prepared him for a career in data science. He now uses machine learning to develop fraud detection and anti-money laundering solutions to help make commerce and banking safer.
