Jason has been at Washington and Lee University since 2005 having served as Assistant Dean for First-Year Experience, Director of Campus Activities and Leadership Development and Director of Student Activities and Greek Life. He has a J. D. and Masters of Higher Education from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Hanover College, with a major in Communication and minor in Business Management. Jason is involved with the local YMCA and other civic engagements.

As Dean for First-Year Experience, Jason serves as the primary resource for new undergraduate students from the time they commit to attending W&L to the time they begin their Sophomore year. Responsibilities include coordinating summer communication, Leading Edge pre-orientation trips, FY housing, orientation week, academic advising, continuing education, Phi Eta Sigma honor society and other services and support for First-Years in furtherance of the University mission. Jason is also an investigator for the Harassment and Sexual Misconduct Board (HSMB) which hears cases of discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, retaliation, and hazing.
