Fio Lewis joined Washington and Lee University in January 2021. She initially served as Program Coordinator in the Office of Inclusion and Engagement before assuming her current role as Executive Assistant to the Dean of the College.
Prior to joining W&L, she worked as an Underserved Outreach Coordinator at a shelter supporting victims of violence. Fio serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on all matters related to the Dean’s Office. She manages the Dean’s schedule and oversees a range of administrative functions, including Courses and Degrees administration, contracts and agreements, capital, operating, and salary budgets, key requests, and the coordination of the Student Perception of Teaching (SPoT) surveys. In addition, Fio provides support to Associate Dean LaRiviere with academic programs such as the Teacher-Scholar Cohorts, mini-grants, faculty support initiatives, and summer research collaboration; Associate Dean Beanland with budget planning, space allocation, and faculty conference travel; and Associate Dean Gertz with strategic initiatives.
