Applied Music

Lessons are available to all W&L students, regardless of major. Students can study many orchestra or band instruments, piano, guitar, drumset and voice.

Housed in the new John and Anne Wilson Hall, the facilities available to the Music Department are state-of-the-art. The main performance venue is a 300-seat Concert Hall which plays host not only to the University’s many student, faculty, and ensemble groups, but also world renowned concert artists.

The W&L Promise

The W&L Promise is part of Washington and Lee's strategic initiative to make the distinctive W&L experience affordable to qualified students. The W&L Promise guarantees a minimum grant of tuition to any undergraduate student admitted to Washington and Lee with a total family income* below $75,000 and assets typical for their income. Furthermore, based on demonstrated need, students may be eligible for additional grant to cover room, board and other educational expenses.
