Kerry Egan, a hospice chaplain by vocation and training, is the award-winning author of On Living, a New York Times best-selling book of essays about how people in the midst of the dying process make meaning of their lives. Her essays have also appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, and CNN.com, among many other places and her work has been featured on NPR's All Things Considered, PBS's Religion and Ethics Newsweekly and Newshour, and CNN's Morning Edition. She was a Writer-in-Residence at the Aspen Institute's AspenWords program and a Hannah Judy Gretz Fellow at the Ragdale Foundation. She has been a keynote speaker at dozens of hospices, hospitals, conferences, churches, and universities, including W&L's 2019 Baccalaureate Service. Kerry was educated at Harvard Divinity School and Washington and Lee University.
