An introduction to the interdisciplinary study of the Medieval and Renaissance periods through the study of a particular topic. Recent studies include The Crusades, Monasticism, Chivalry, Elizabethan England, the Birth of Italian Literature, Pilgrimage, and European Encounters with Islam.
Students in Medieval and Renaissance Studies complete their major by enrolling in MRST 473, Senior Thesis, during the Fall or Winter term of their senior year.
Qualified students in Medieval and Renaissance Studies may elect to substitute for the Senior Thesis (MRST 473) a more in depth two-semester Senior Honors Thesis (MRST 493) written over the Fall and Winter terms.
