Sarah Hobbs Small Problems in Living

Sarah Hobbs's photographs are the result of an ongoing exploration of the neurotic tendencies inherent in human behavior. She constructs carefully staged images depicting the evidence of grappling with psychological compulsions such as procrastination and avoidance. Simultaneously witty and eerie, the fictional domestic environments, empty of any human figures, illustrate the idea that even the most comfortable spaces can house uneasiness. Through her work, Hobbs embraces the idea that we are all beautifully flawed. Her work can be found in many prestigious collections including those at the Art Institute of Chicago, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Sir Elton John Collections and the Lost Angeles County Museum of Art.  Hobbs lives and works in Atlanta, Georgia.
