University Singers Ireland Tour Kick-off Concert

Join the renowned University Singers as they kick off their 2016 tour of Ireland with an evening of a cappella choral mastery. The tour will include performances in Dublin, Belfast, Derry, Galway, and elsewhere, featuring the choir performing a series of daunting polychoral works by Giovanni Gabrieli, Felix Mendelssohn, Ola Gjeilo, and Stacey V. Gibbs. Then journey through Ireland with traditional Irish favorites, including Danny Boy and The King of Love along with traditional Gaelic works such as Amhrán na Gaoithe (the ‘Song of the Wind'). Closing the program will be folk songs, gospel music, and other works of Americana that are always audience favorites.
