The Lenfest Center for the Arts
Holiday Pops Concert
Kick off the holiday season with traditional and contemporary arrangements of favorite holiday tunes performed by the University Wind Ensemble, String Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Men’s Glee Club, and Cantatrici and conductors Shane Lynch, Terry Vosbein, Mark Taylor, and Chad Reep for a family-friendly evening of seasonal Holiday music. Two identical concerts will be presented, on Monday, December 8 and Tuesday, December 9, at 7 p.m. in Wilson Concert Hall in the Lenfest Center at Washington and Lee. The earlier start time is intended to allow families to come and hear the festive music. Tickets are free but required and may be picked up at the Lenfest Box Office. Due to the large performer setup, seating will be limited.
The concert will open with African call and response through voice and percussion in Brad Holmes’ festive Noel and feature works of many traditions of the Holiday season, including Personent Hodie, Jubilate Deo, Sleigh Ride, and many others. The concert will feature music moving from ensemble to ensemble and location to location in the hall along with festive lighting, setting a festive holiday scene for all who attend!
