A lively exploration of the use of musical variation in organ music over the centuries to showcase the instrument's many sound colors and the technical prowess of the players. Fixed forms such as "Passacaglia" and "Chaconne" along with variations on sacred and secular tunes. An eclectic assortment of male and female composers from both sides of the Atlantic, some well-known (Bach, Buxtehude, Pachelbel, Alain, Langlais) others less so (Heiller, Laurin, Sandresky).
