Jenkins' bio includes MacArthur Fellow for 2016, 2016 and 2018 finalist for Pulitzer Prize for Drama (Gloria and Everybody) and 2014 OBIE Award for Best New American Play. He has taught at New York University and Queens University of Charlotte, and his honors include a Paula Vogel Playwriting Award, a Helen Merrill Award, and the inaugural Tennessee Williams Award. He holds an MA in performance studies. He is a Princeton alum from the Class of 2006, holds an MFA in Performance Studies from NYU, and is a graduate of the Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program at Juilliard.
