As early as 1986, orchestral musicians have been performing live arrangements of video game music, and since that time video game concerts have only increased in popularity. While orchestral video game music arrangements have entered the live-performance scene, solo video game arrangements are still finding their place in both solo repertoires and prestigious performance spaces.

These solo arrangements highlight opportunities for performers and audiences, as they blend established musical practices with unique aspects of video game music.

Please join us as we perform and discuss works from the Final Fantasy Series, focusing on how aspects of interactivity, "play," and artistic purpose factor into the performance of video game soundtrack arrangements for piano.
