Software Delivery and Configuration

What is it?

ITS licenses Microsoft Office for all faculty, staff and students. Other applications, including discipline- and department-specific applications, are available through myVI, which provides access through a web browser.

Who can use it?

Faculty, staff, and students.

How much does it cost?

Microsoft Office is provided free of charge on office computers to faculty and staff, and is included in the standard fees paid by students. ITS licenses a limited number of other software; ITS may impose charges for local installation of this software, depending on availability. Use of software through myVI is free.

How do I get it?

ITS configures all faculty and staff computers with Microsoft Office. Faculty and staff may request additional software to be installed, or access software on the Web through myVI. Students may download and install Microsoft Office themselves, or visit the ITS Information Desk on the main floor of Leyburn Library to obtain assistance in installing the software. Students, faculty, and staff may obtain a discount for Office on their personally-owned computers.
