University Supported Resources with Artificial Intelligence (AI) Capabilities

To maximize privacy of personal data when interacting with an application's AI features, users are encouraged to log in to W&L licensed software using university credentials on application sign up pages or through MyApps.wlu.edu. This ensures that, when possible, your interactions are not stored for the purpose of training outside large language models.

Box AI is a new suite of capabilities that natively integrates advanced AI models into the Content Cloud. With Box AI, you can transform your content strategy and unlock the full potential of your unstructured data, while managing every aspect of content management (like collaborating, categorizing, and automating processes). Plus, you maintain the same enterprise-grade security, compliance, and privacy you know and trust with Box. Learn more about Box AI data security by viewing the following resource page.

  • While using Box online (Box.com) click the Box AI icon at the top of any document. Ask questions or make requests like, "Summarize this document," "What are the key takeaways?" "How can this document be improved?" Find out more about how Box AI can add value to your stored content.

copilot logoMicrosoft Copilot is available to both students and employees through web and mobile app versions. To log in, follow these steps:

  1. Visit copilot.microsoft.com in your web browser.
  2. Sign in using your W&L credentials.

When you use Microsoft Copilot with your university account, it automatically includes commercial data protection. This feature ensures that prompts and responses in Copilot are not used to train the underlying AI models. Additionally:

  • Chat data sent to and from Copilot with commercial data protection is encrypted during the chat session.
  • Information about your account and organization is only used to determine eligibility for commercial data protection. After that, it is removed from chat data and is no longer associated with your session.
  • Bing Search queries triggered by your prompts in Copilot are not linked to your account or organization.

Please note that W&L does not currently provide students or employees with a license for Microsoft 365 Copilot, which offers access to Copilot within applications like Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Teams.

Note: Available to those with a current license or access rights to a sheet. To get started, log in to Smartsheet in MyApps.wlu.edu. While in your Smartsheet file, click the stars icon in the right column to "Generate with AI Tools."

AI Companion for Zoom Meetings. Meeting summaries can save time taking notes and easily share important action items. Chat with AI Companion about what you missed if you join late and get a real-time response during your meeting. With smart recordings, AI Companion divides meeting recordings into chapters by topic so you can review meeting highlights and next steps more quickly. Meeting summaries and asking questions in meetings are supported in 36 languages. AI Companion will even automatically detect the main language spoken during the meeting and provide a meeting summary in that language. There's no need to switch between multiple windows - Zoom AI Companion is woven into products across the Zoom Workplace, helping you save time and work more efficiently throughout your day.  While logged into Zoom, you can find the AI Companion icon in your Zoom Meetings controls toolbar or your Zoom Team Chat window. Find out more about Zoom AI Companion.

adobe logoAdobe Firefly is a suite of generative AI tools developed by Adobe. These tools allow users to create or edit unique artwork using simple text prompts. By recognizing connections between text and images, Firefly enables users to generate imagery based on various styles, patterns, and contexts. It's available both online and within Adobe Creative Cloud apps, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Express. For example, you can use Firefly to:

  • Text to Image: Generate images from text descriptions.
  • Generative Fill: Create richer, more lifelike images with enhanced control.
  • Text to Vector Graphic: Generate fully customizable, scalable vector graphics using text prompts.
  • Generative Remove: Easily remove distractions from backgrounds in photos

W&L does not currently provide access to Acrobat AI Assistant, the generative AI tool deeply integrated into Adobe Reader and Acrobat workflows. Learn more about AI at Adobe.
