Dual Career Resources
The decision to accept a new position and relocate brings with it the challenge of becoming established in a new geographic area and possibly finding a position for a spouse or partner. Washington and Lee University understands the nature of difficulties that dual career couples face. The Office of Human Resources provides resources to support dual career spouses and partners, and information that is intended to make the transition to the Washington and Lee University community as smooth as possible.
The Office of Human Resources provides individualized support to dual career spouses and partners whose employee spouse or partner is in their first year of full-time employment at W&L. This service is extended beyond one year as time allows. Individuals who are interested in dual career services should submit a resume or vitae to the Assistant Director of Talent Recruitment. Applicants are also encouraged to initiate conversations with department chairs or supervisors during the interview process.
Recruitment Ambassadors
In addition to the one-on-one support provided by the Office of Human Resources there are individuals in the W&L community who have agreed to serve as confidential and informative resources for new hires and their spouses and partners. These Recruitment serve as points of contact related to a variety of identities including race, ethnicity, religion, parents, and LGBTQ+. Please contact the Assistant Director of Talent Recruitment if you wish to reach out to one or more Recruitment Ambassadors to learn more about life at W&L.
