Work-Life Initiatives

Dependent Care

Resources to help employees meet their child and elder care needs.

Dual Career Resources

Resources for candidate and new hire spouse/partners seeking employment in the area.

Flexible Work Schedules

With supervisory approval, some flexibility in the starting time of work and lunch breaks is permitted, provided that the business needs of the office and University are met.

Local Food Options

Interested in eating locally? A CSA is essentially a subscription to a farm or other local food supplier. The subscription format, available through payroll deduction, provides you with fresh, local produce (and eggs, cheese, meat, etc.) and allows farmers some predictability of demand.

Newcomers Group

New to Washington and Lee? The Newcomers Group sponsors various events to welcome the newest members of our community and provide opportunities for new faculty and staff to become acquainted. Activities are open to those hired in the last three years. Contact Andrea Velásquez to join the Newcomers Facebook group.
