Study Abroad
Spring Term Study Abroad
Students can often gain experience abroad through one of the History Department's Study Abroad Classes during the four week Spring term. These classes give students a chance to travel with a Washington and Lee Professor and their fellow undergraduate students while also allowing them to continue with their history studies.
Classes vary by year. Information about 2018 History Spring Term Abroad classes to come.
Study Abroad Opportunities through the University
History majors can also take advantage of study abroad options provided through the university.
The summer program at Oxford is a great opportunity for History majors to continue their studies over the summer while also taking advantage of the opportunity to travel to Oxford University. Credits may be applied to an FDR requirement for the humanities and also in a number of majors.
The Advanced Studies in English program is available as a study abroad option for a one or two-semester study abroad experience (with some summer school options). This is a Washington and Lee affiliated program.
