Columbia University, European Institute

Columbia's M.A. program in European History, Politics, and Society is now accepting applications for Fall 2020.

Housed within the European Institute, this M.A. program offers unique opportunities for students to deepen their understanding of modern Europe while also developing their research, writing, and presentation skills.

Students design their own programs of study. They can choose courses related to European topics in Arts and Sciences, the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), and the Law School.

The degree is designed for students going on to graduate and professional schools and to careers in business, government, law, and the nonprofit sector.

The program can be completed in 12 months but part-time study is also possible.

The European Institute offers financial support to its students, including tuition assistance to qualified students, competitive grants to conduct research in Europe, and employment opportunities to select students.
