About Léo Jury

My name is Léo, I am the WLTA for French at W&L. Born and raised in the Parisian area, I'm hoping to bring a bit of the French capital in Virginia. Back in France, I used to work as a policy officer for Franco-American cooperation in the Ministry for Higher Education and Research. This love for the friendship between our two countries brought me to cross the Atlantic to land in Lexington. I hope to contribute to strengthen this Franco-American relationship and to promote this kind of program such as Fulbright which I am part of.

Living immersed in American culture while sharing my own is a truly enriching experience. As a TA, I am deeply committed to supporting my students, making it a priority to help each of them discover and benefit from the richness of French culture.

I graduated from International Relations, and this field continues to be a true passion of mine, especially the question of soft power and the diplomatic relations between France and North America. That's why I did my master thesis on the scientific diplomacy between France and the U.S. Beyond academics, I am also a sports fan, which is why you will often see me attending sporting events or on the court with the handball team I started.
